This is probably the most important question to ask when considering your attic space. If you’re able to safely access your roof cavity, we recommend taking a quick look to get an understanding of the available head height and overall space.
If you can’t comfortably stand up in the roof, an Attic Room may not be suitable for your home. However, our Basic Storage and Dustproof Room solutions can be installed in almost any roof space – including truss roofs.
We can also work around air-conditioning ducting, or arrange for a qualified technician to relocate it where required to create more usable space.

Please note: As we are carpenters by trade, we do not work in steel-framed houses.
The cost depends on how you plan to use your attic and how much space you’d like to utilise.
Most of our projects are priced using a transparent square metre rate, so there are no hidden costs. Homes with truss roofs may attract a slightly higher rate, but we’ll discuss this with you from the outset.
A typical attic ladder with 10m² of Basic Storage starts from $2,499 + GST.
Attic Rooms are more bespoke and are quoted on a project-by-project basis.
Project timeframes vary depending on the size and complexity of the job.
- Basic Storage is generally completed within 1–2 days.
- Dustproof Rooms typically take 3–5 days.
- Attic Rooms generally take 3–5 weeks.
Every home is different, but we’ll provide a realistic timeframe during your initial consultation.
Generally, no. For Basic Storage, Dustproof Rooms and Attic Rooms, our work remains within the existing roof space and does not alter the roofline of your home. Because of this, we can usually avoid the time-consuming and costly Development Application process.
Absolutely. We work in a way that causes minimal disruption to your home. Around 90% of the time, our installers will be working within the roof space.
Attic Room projects are typically accessed from outside via scaffolding, so we often don’t need to enter your home until the project is almost complete (to install the attic ladder or fixed staircase).
Our installers also use drop sheets and vacuums to ensure your home is left clean and tidy at the end of each day.
Basic Storage and Dustproof Rooms are accessed via one of our attic ladders. We’ll help you choose the best ladder based on your ceiling height, budget and how frequently you’ll use the space.
Attic Rooms can be accessed via a fixed staircase if your home allows for one. Alternatively, they can also be accessed using an attic ladder, including a fully electric option.
